Marie Claire presents First Cut: Paper, Scissors, Block, Print; a collaborative installation and performance piece by designer Lisa Jaffe of Guillotine, printmaker Jillian Ross of David Krut Print Workshop, artist Mary Wafer and musician João Orrechia.
Using a bold and striking four-piece 1.5 x 1.3 m woodcut by artist Mary Wafer as a printing tool, her artwork has inspired a limited edition print on paper and extended into Guillotine’s first limited edition clothing range.  Performers will be showcasing the two.

One of the highlights of the FNB Joburg Art Fair is the Alfa Romeo Art Talks.  This is free to ticket holders, located inside the Fair and gives visitors the opportunity to meet gallerists, hear about artists’ practice and learn about the art world.

About Us

It is with excitement that we announce the dates for the 2012 FNB Joburg Art Fair. The Fair has taken place annually since 2008 and so is fast becoming one of the longest lasting annual art events in South Africa and on the continent of Africa. We are grateful to our naming rights sponsor, First National Bank for seeing the value in partnering with the creative economy on this scale.

Artlogic extends a big thanks to our galleries that bring top African contemporary art into the Fair year after year. In South Africa, the Art Fair is not only a market for buying and selling art, but crucially also a place where visitors can experience the largest selection of art from this region under one roof over the course of the weekend. In this way the Fair fulfills a vital educational role for our scholars and those interested in becoming more art literate.

This year will see the second FNB Art Prize and we will once again bring you good food, top wines and an international Talks Program.

We thank the Department of Art and Culture for their support of our internship program. For more information on this or to apply to be put on our short list, please send a cv to [email protected].
