This partnership showcases what can be achieved when Art & Industry work together. The Art Fair panel has selected Lawrence Lemaoana to design fabric for St Leger and Viney which will be used in dedicated spaces in the 2010 Art Fair.
Featured Artist: Siemon Allen
Since its establishment in 1997, the gordonschachatcollection has dedicated itself to the support of South African art and a select number of individual contemporary artists. Artlogic collaborated with them to bring a “biennale type” work to the Fair that is not for sale. In 2008 gordonschachatcollection brought out Robin Rhode and in 2009, the celebrated South African artist, Jane Alexander. In 2010, the gordonschachatcollection will present a unique installation by Siemon Allen. Allen will exhibit a body of work titled RECORDS a series of print enlargements of rare South African records selected from his ongoing collection.
Grolsch commisioned artwork
Grolsch, wanting to align their brand strongly with art, have commissioned artist, Martli Jansen van Rensburg to produce an art installation that will be showcased at the Art Fair. Jansen van Rensburg works specifically in the medium of glass. This makes for a good fit for Grolsch as the Grolsch glass swing-top bottle is a core component of their brand identity.
Talks
One of the successes of the 2009 Fair was the Talks program. Artlogic will build on and expand this concept in an ongoing attempt to increase art literacy and allow the public to gain knowledge of contemporary African visual art.

This project has been made possible by Gauteng Provincial Government and equipment will be provided by DigiCape.
